Wheelchair and stretcher taxi in Tokyo
Libre is a care taxi service based in Kokubunji, Tokyo. We help people who use a wheelchair or need to lie down travel between hotels, hospitals, airports and the places they want to visit.
- All staff hold Japanese national qualifications (certified care worker, physiotherapist, nurse or paramedic)
- 8 vehicles certified by the Tokyo Fire Department, about 3,500 trips a year
- 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by advance booking
What we can help with
Hotel, hospital and clinic trips
Visit a hospital or clinic in your wheelchair, lying down if needed, then return to your hotel.
Airport transfers
Pick-up and drop-off at Haneda Airport and Narita Airport. Tell us your flight details.
Sightseeing and family events
Day trips, weddings, memorial services and other outings. Up to 5 family members can ride with you (depends on the vehicle).
Long-distance trips
If your trip starts or ends in Tokyo, we can take you anywhere in Japan.
Equipment and support
- Standard and reclining wheelchairs, stretchers
- Medical oxygen and suction
- Help on stairs and inside buildings, including carrying by stretcher
- Some vehicles carry a patient monitor and an AED
We are not an emergency service. In a life-threatening emergency, call 119.
Fares
- No booking fee.
- Metered taxi fare, plus any equipment or assistance you need.
- We send you a quote before you book.
- Payment in cash, by credit card or by invoice. Please tell us in advance if you want to pay by card or invoice.
- Cancellations on the day before or on the day of the trip are charged. Please cancel at least 2 days before.
